Debra Scott Green Party Candidate for Beaches East York

Debra Scott is an environmental activist and lobbyist with a strong commitment to research and development on sustainable innovation. She has contributed to policy seminars on the future of work with McKinsey & Company and the Ontario government, and is currently completing a Masters degree at the University of Toronto. She holds the Science, Research and Innovation portfolio with the Green Party of Ontario’s shadow cabinet, and has been a Provincial Executive Member for the Toronto Region. Debra is a certified Change Agent with an extensive background working within education and government. She actively contributes to her local riding association and has held the positions of Secretary and President. She has worked in Britain and Japan and enjoys consulting as a learning specialist. She is a mother of two and calls the Beach her home.

  • Planning to close the Pickering Nuclear Facility; sourcing power from current oversupply
  • Promoting delivery, production and consumption of locally grown and sourced food
  • Cleaning local waterways, beaches, and ravines
  • Support for smart transit planning, including local relief lines
